First off... in memory of William O'Connor author of the Dracopedia series that had deeply inspired this project from the get go.
I only had the honor of speaking with him just once over Instagram when I began this project inspired by his 'Fafnir' art in his book, "Dracopedia Legends". If you haven't seen his works, I highly recommend it as he has illustrated a large variety of dragons including their anatomical structure. Thank you William, your works are still a constant inspiration for me.
My second thanks goes out to Gael Kerchenbaum. Without his Mari videos... I would have never survived Mari. He's also an amazing creature artist! https://www.artstation.com/gaelkerchenbaum
This project has been on and off. I have intentions of making it into a game ready asset but between life, work, and more life its like watching molasses in winter (hah!) So I've opted to showcase the high poly sculpt which I had learned so much from when it came to working on a creature.
Rendered in Marmoset Toolbag.
